Ironically, Saturday's announcement in Springfield, Illinois by Obama of his vice-presidential selection underscores the problems he has connecting with the American people as a legitimate and independent presidential candidate. Obama's campaign probably chose Springfield because of its connection with the beginnings of the greatest American President Abraham Lincoln, with the meteoric rise of Senator Obama in American politics, and finally with the beginning of this “dream” race to the White House of “Mr. Outside.”
The announcement in Springfield will show just the opposite. It will show glaringly what is wrong with Obama and his Illinois connections.
President Abraham Lincoln was a Republican and his greatest detractors and defeatists during the Civil War were the Democrats and the Democratic Party. Lincoln was the first abolitionist President and the first and only civil war President -- experience and maturity was the tantamount characteristic required and both are lacking in Senator Obama. Today, the Republican President may have low popularity; but the popularity of the Democratic Congress is even lower – actually it has never been lower.
Springfield will remind the American Nation that what is needed in the White House in these crucial times is a wrinkled, weather-beaten, seasoned veteran whose moral fortitude has been tested real life or death situations; not a neophyte GQ media creation who finds himself in adult pants.
Springfield, the State Capital of Illinois, is also the capital of the most corrupt political system in the Country (with the exception of Lake County, Indiana). This political system created and nurtured Barak Obama to the position he is in today. Why? This will be payback time for all the corrupt political officials who Obama
owes big time. Just this week, Obama’s mentor and maker in the Illinois Senate, Emile Jones, announced his retirement at age 72 and the automatic passing of his Senate Seat to his son Emile Jones III – yes, passing on as in an inheritance.
This is not new in Illinois. Todd Stroger’s son inherited the Presidency of the Cook County Board. It is universally accepted that the sons (and daughters) and families are incompetent but
tribal family trumps all. (Let us not forget the Daley family; but more on that later.) In Illinois, this does not make a difference because one is “entitled” to governmental privileges and perks. This is how
Illinois tribal politics works and Springfield will remind the nation that Senator Obama is part of the
tribal political system.
Springfield will remind the Nation that Barak Obama remains the child of the political system that has had its last four out of five chief executives (i.e. governors) indicted for corruption and now in jail. Springfield will remind the Nation of Obama’s ongoing corruption and corruptibility. In Illinois, this is called “entitlement.” Never once in all of his time in Illinois politics did Obama make one stand against corruption or in favor of the people he represented.
There is Mayor Daley, Axelrod, Daly's chief spokesman, is now the manager and creator of the Obama campaign, and Abner Mikva who made Obama in local politics. We also have the close personal friends of Daley and the Illinois Governor Rezko and Bill Ayres, the wealthy terrorist, who made Obama financially. Anyone really think this is an accident? Possibly a sign of Obama's unique talents?
Springfield will remind the Nation that Rezko and Obama are and were in the middle of this corruption. The Nation needs to be reminded that one of the achievement for Obama will be to pardon Rezko. That is why Rezko has not turned State’s evidence against Obama.
What else will Springfield bring home to the American people about Barak Obama? The families behind the throne will be front and center. These two families are the Daley’s and the Kennedy’s. The Daley’s will be repeating the favor they did for father Joe Kennedy in the 1960 election. No one doubts the John Kennedy could not have won without the “late” arrival of Mayor Daley’s Chicago votes in Springfield. Now we are repeating the same situation.
Springfield represents the return of the Democratic family politics of the Kennedy/Daley machine. In the Daley camp, you have the Mayor with his brother Bill. In the Kennedy camp, you having an ill, but not dead, Senator Ted Kennedy in addition to all the family of young interconnected Kennedy’s. Why did the young rapist Kennedy doctor come to Chicago? He is protected. Anyone ever wonder where Carolyn Kennedy all of a sudden came from to support Obama and then she is selected to vet the VP? Why? What is the connection? She says "he" reminds her of her father -- give me a break.
What Springfield will remind the Nation is that the Kennedy/Daley machine is the puppeteers creating and leading Obama. They wanted to ensure that Clintons would not win again. The Kennedy/Daley machine knew that if Hillary Clinton had won the nomination their days as a family dynasty was over.
